Enhancing Participation, Collaboration & Transformation with Gov 2.0

The 2010 Gov 2.0 Expo will be held May 25-27 in the Washington Convention Center in Washington DC.  CTOvision.com contributor and Crucial Point LLC associate Ryan Kamauff will be at the Expo live-blogging, and many other friends and associates will also be there.  I recommend anyone who wants to help make a difference in the nation consider attending this two day session.

(I really wish I could be in two places, I’ll be at the DoDIIS conference in Phoenix and will not be able to make the expo personally).

The O’Reilly media crew established an advisory group to interact with during preps for this expo and it was quite an honor to talk with them during this.  They also graciously gave me some special codes I can pass on to my blog readers to give you discounts.  They are at the bottom of this post.

The expo will include presentations by practitioners and thought leaders in many domains related to civic innovation, government transparency, open data, government use of social media and related topics.  Of special interest to me personally is the emphasis on emerging technologies and innovation.  This type of event is terrific as a means to track new capabilities.

One of the most positive, powerful things that the O’Reilly team does around topics like this is continue a conversation.  The many friends I’ve made in previous events stay in touch via social media and follow-on in-person activities/events/socials.   This helps move dialog forward and makes it a bit easier to actually advance solutions vice continue to admire the problem.

If you are going to be in DC on 25-27 May, please consider attending the Expo and connecting with the interesting folks you will run into there.   And please let me know what you think of the venue and its ability to make progress on these key issues.

If you cannot make the event, I have another recommendation.  Connect to the following twitter accounts and use them to stay in the loop on the activities there:
