If We Can Put a Man on the Moon: Getting Big Things Done In Government

I found: If We Can Put a Man on the Moon: Getting Big Things Done in Governmentto be a book I couldn't put down. This great read is about results and how to get them.  And, as the title implies, it focuses on big results in government.  The government is doing many things to the highest of standards and getting many big things done, but the list of failed programs, fiascoes and squandered opportunities seems to be growing longer and longer.  Some … [Read more...]

Great IT change came with a whisper not a bang

I have a thesis I would like to try on you. In the IT world, like in many other human endeavors, the things that get measured get improved. And the things that don't get measured are easy to ignore.  So, when the world's largest IT enterprise (the US federal government) starts measuring IT differently we need to take note. Specifically the feds will be improving the measurement of energy efficiencies of IT.  This will be done to meet goals mandated … [Read more...]

They are … [Read more...]
