Alan W. Silberberg, the founder and CEO of Silberberg Innovations, sat down with me last week and talked about his work in Gov 2.0 and of the live streaming event, Gov 2.0 LA. Over the course of the next few weeks we will explore each of these focuses more intently, while this post will give a general background on the man himself.
Alan has worked with the White House (directly in different administration), Microsoft, and various other technological companies as an advisor, giving his views on topics that would help the company be more beneficial to the public. He is a leading proponent of Gov 2.0, and he focuses on how our new technology we create every day can create more and more better interaction between the everyday people and the government. He said that we, as citizens, are all shareholders of this country. We should be more invested in what the government does with our country. His innovation brings great development to the quickly changing technologies that we see in our lives. His company is the first Gov 2.0 based Private Diplomacy in the government technology space.
Gov 2.0 L.A., also created by Alan, is a live streaming event that people from around the world can access via the internet. It is situated in Los Angeles, and is conducted annually, bring together many brilliant minds in the areas of technology and government, as well as leaders in the academic and financial fields. With a minimum online audience of about 50,000, this event boasts many members, including many foreign governments and creators of Craigslist, Citysourced , Second Life and many morestartups.
Alan will be coming out with a Gov 3.0 based platform services company sometime later this year, and he says that it will be much needed. Hopefully, this will help us get closer to understanding what we can do with the government given to us, and what we can do to change it.
