News this week reaffirmed the disruptive power of cloud computing, in many ways. One way was in the announcement by Google that their Google Cloud, which includes G Suite and Google Cloud Platform, is  now a $1B per quarter business. Huge of course, but that is not nearly as large as the powerhouse at Amazon Web Services. Still, it makes a point. If you are in business today, you should be moving to the cloud.

Regarding cell phones and speed, Sprint has announced they intend to be the first carrier with nationwide mobile 5G, getting there by 2019. We can't wait!

Over the last week we saw a continued stream of reporting on AI, wearables, autonomous vehicles. All of this is as expected!

Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies overall remain in the news. Everyone is tracking volatility. But we are also seeing continued movement by governments to regulate cryptocurrencies. We are also seeing reports of big firms, including JPMorgan Chase, Bank of America, and Citigroup halting credit card transactions with cryptocurrency exchanges.
