In hindsight we did not give enough attention to the very important announcement of Inferentia. Here is what Tech Crunch said about that:
The machine learning chip market is hotting up with the latest entrant being Amazon. The online retailing to cloud services company has announced that it will launch a new machine learning chip called Inferentia. Up to now, it was big chip makers like Nvidia and Intel who were developing neural chips but this will change as Amazon announced its own machine learning chip called Inferentia at AWS re:Invent in Las Vegas. “Inferentia will be a very high-throughput, low-latency, sustained-performance very cost-effective processor,” AWS CEO Andy Jassy explained during the announcement.
